I am passionate, enthusiastic, and overwhelmed by who God is, this life that He created and has given me, and the people I get to share it with.

I love the way a song lyric, a quote, a story, or just a single word can sum up an entire cosmos of emotions and memories. 

I love that words are some of the best ways I can connect and communicate; that they allow me to find ways to express the breath-taking, the imperfect, the painful, and the most sincere feelings and thoughts.

I teach.  Meaning everyday is an outrageous adventure walking into the local public high school, teaching Algebra and Precalculus, and rubbing shoulders with high school students.

starting mornings with coffee
passionate lip syncing
trying to explain the overwhelming feeling certain weather gives me
drinking orange juice with pizza
my husband’s smile
turning the music UP/replaying my favorite parts
getting time completely alone

I write because words have always found a way of reaching into the deepest part of my heart and storing themselves there.

I write because it forces me to be brutally honest with myself.

I write because it allows me to not only wrestle with the right now, the half-baked, the “what is going on” moments, but it also helps me notice and therefore REMEMBER how I see God intersecting in wild, simple, and profoundly personal ways.

I write because the story GOD has been and continues to write in my life has thrown me a few curve balls, keeps me on my toes, has taken me to heart-stopping high points, gut-wrenching lows and the insane mix of everything in between. My life is a story of God's infinite and transforming grace, and that is the song I want to keep singing the rest of my life.

The story He is writing is the one worth telling.
